This is my graduation short film from the The London Film School’s MA in Filmmaking. It was shot in Guatemala City and completed in November 2019.
Espacios Vacíos (Empty Spaces) tells the story of an older woman and her housekeeper, set in Guatemala City. It shows the boundaries in their relationship despite living quite isolated in the same domestic space. It brings light to a still very common way of living in my country.
It explores the loneliness these women live with day by day (despite sharing the same house), the troubling acceptance of aging and the hardships of working far from those you love.
